Driving Tuition Survey 2021: Instructors by WeDrive 10th September 2021 10th September 2021 Welcome to 2021 Driving Tuition Industry Survey We're once again asking ADIs and PDIs all across the UK what they feel about driver training, the state of the industry today, and being an instructor in the current climate. Click 'NEXT' to begin. Most questions are skippable. Feel free to leave any answers blank if you do not wish to answer a particular question for any reason. Enter your email address at the end of the survey if you'd like to be entered into our prize draw to win a £50 Amazon gift voucher (must be an ADI or PDI to be eligible for prize). All results will be anonimised and feed only into the production of summary statistics. Findings will then be published in December, and also shared with participants who sign up to receive our emails. Deselect Answer Your earnings will increase significantly compared to the same period last year Your earnings will increase slightly compared to the same period last year Your earnings will be about the same as the same period last year Your earnings will decrease slightly compared to the same period last year Your earnings will decrease significantly compared to the same period last year No idea: totally unsure Question is not applicable or have left/will be leaving the industry What is your average monthly insurance cost (for your training car) in £? Or, if you are retired, what proportion of your ex-pupils tended to experience thisDeselect Answer A minority (only 1 or 2) Less than half More than half Most of them Other than being unpleasant for the pupils themselves, do you think nerves/anxiety (where present) tend to negatively impact the pupil’s driving ability* on a significant level? *Their ability to drive safely and to the required standard in lessons and/or be successful in their practical testDeselect Answer Yes No Unsure / depends on the individual students How beneficial would it be to give your pupils access to a course (e.g. online) to combat driving anxiety and test day nerves? Deselect Answer Not at all: if they can drive, then they shouldn’t be nervous on their test. If they're nervous it just means they're not ready. Quite helpful, as a few do suffer from being anxious/nervous on lessons or on test day Very helpful: it's a significant problem and I seem to teach many/a significantly increasing proportion of pupils like this! No, I'm happy with the way things are already No, I'm worried about security No, I doubt such systems are effective No, it sounds like too much work to set up I already do, but it's not for me I already do but the service/app/site is poor I already do - and I'm happy I am very interested, as this could boost my pupil acquisition/bookings and revenues I am very interested, as this would save me time and money in terms of marketing my business I am very interested, as it would be be convenient/efficient to have the software help manage my lesson schedule and take automatic payments I'd be interested to try it/find out more as I'm not totally convinced / would need to learn more about the concept I'm interested but concerned about security issues I'm interested but would be concerned about the amount of work involved to set it up I'm interested but would have doubts about the effectiveness of such a service I'm interested in saving money on franchising fees/commissions, so it would have to leave me with a greater % of my revenue as profit n/a (e.g. I am retired) Do you use a diary/planner type app or software to help you manage your schedule and/or notes? Deselect Answer Yes, I'm happy with it Yes, but I'll probably stop using it as such things are just not for me Yes, but I'll probably stop using it as the ones I have tried have been poor Yes, but it could be better - I'd consider upgrading No, but I'd be interested to try something like that: it could be much more efficient than paper No: such things are just not for me No: all the digital products I have tried for this purpose have been poor or too basic Not at the moment, but I plan to find a professional all-digital/software solution for this soon n/a (e.g. retired now) 2 out of 2 Thanks for taking part!
